Flounder and Black Drum are also common catches here, often found near the passes and deeper channels. When the weather allows, venturing out from Empire into the nearshore waters can yield King Mackerel and even some Tuna action, particularly in the spring and fall. What are the best seasons for fishing in Empire?
Fall and spring are generally excellent for Redfish and Speckled Trout. Summer can be hot but still productive, and winter offers opportunities for Black Drum and calmer conditions. Offshore fishing for pelagics like King Mackerel is best in the warmer months and fall.
